What is a sub domain?
Subdomains are a way of creating separate accounts within your account, access the URL separately. For example, you could create a timber subdomain on your master account hardware.com which can be accessed as timber.hardware.com.
Many large businesses use subdomains to establish branding and focus on separate product lines, because a subdomain creates a separate URL and web presence. It creates a new CPanel when you create a subdomain. Management functions for the subdomain through your master CPanel on. Practically a subdomain to a subfolder in the account is with a private plane public_http cgi-bin.
The timber example above is a new top-level folder called timber, with a cgi-bin folder. Upload your files are on the subdomain, including a separate startup file (eg index.htm).
